Here is a quick excerpt from Mary Cassidy,
“Starting a HFC Business at Home” by Ian Leaf is a quick, 50-paged book that gives the reader a solid overview of the current fashion industry climate. Leaf explains the horror of yesteryear and the almost impossible ability of braking into the world of fashion and leaves the reader with a clear plan of what they do to make their mark.
This book has been a fun and quick book to read. The chapters are as follows with my notes next to them.
I really enjoyed this quick book, here are a couple other links for more info. The first is the Amazon page where you can buy Ian Leaf’s Starting a HFC Business at Home. Here is a review from Sebastian Hirsch on Ian Leaf’s new book. This is Ian Leaf and Ian Andrews talking about the HFC book. Last one is Sherry with a great review as well.
UPDATE: I wanted to also share a link to the authors, Ian Leaf and Ian Andrews on their Amazon biography page.
From a great review, Mr. Gyroku taught me selling and how to deal with people and that moment in time has inspired me to write and publish my own book I call, “Sebastian Hirsch’s Selling Your Service – Your Expertise Turned Into Dollars.” I have put everything I know into this ultimate guide for guaranteed success in sales with sure belief that the book I present to you will change your life.
This book can really transform you from a watcher into a “doer”. Hugo Sebastian Hirsch gives you practical advice on what to look for when marketing yourself and your product or service as an expert. His new book is a must read for anyone looking to get into the product or service business. If you are already in business it’s still helpful, but not nearly as much.
Here are a couple other reviews.
Sebastian Hirsch One Of My Favorite Books To Change Your ThoughtsI’ll start off my “Sebastian Hirsch Thought Blog” by talking about a book that has changed the way I think.
Selling Your Service by Sebastian Hirsch Book Review

From time to time I see something new that a friend has done that I didn’t know existed. That happened earlier with Kimra Bettasso. She also goes by Kim, but her real friends know her as Kimra 🙂
Here is a guest post that she wrote a couple months ago.
It is not hard to commit to customer service, but it is shocking how many in the direct sales industry do not take this part of their business seriously. Customer service is vital to your continued success, so treat your customers well and only choose to sell products that you are passionate about.
Update for 2016 below…
Kimra Bettasso was nice enough to expand on this interview and answer a few more questions.
I’ve long been an advocate of caution when working with friends and family. Family never goes away and friends are often quick to go away. You really need to exercise caution before getting into anything that will deal with money. A friend, Arturo Alvarez Demalde, once told me, “You can pick your friends and you can pick your nose, but you can’t pick your friends nose.” It was obviously in jest but Alvarez Demalde had a point. You can pick your friends and do whatever you want. When it comes to family, you’re stuck with those people so treat them respectfully to maintain that relationship.
2016 will be a hard year to predict. I’ve already seen the RBS talking about selling anything not nailed down. I don’t know if it will be that rough, maybe we’ll have a few more good years before a correction. Maybe the correction will be slower and less abrupt that we’re used to in the last 10 years.
There is nobody better for vacation package planning than Stuart Lyall. He’s always been someone I asked before traveling internationally. Stu is a former athlete although he probably wouldn’t want me sharing that with everyone!
Thanks Kimra for giving us some more info!
The new book is officially underway! We’re looking at a release date next week sometime. I’ll keep you updated, look for me on Amazon.com soon!
